New Mama Dal
New Mama Dal is a slow-cooked lentil dish with spices and whole milk yogurt, simmered to enhance flavors.

| Garam Masala | 1 | Tsp |

| Fresh Cilantro (chopped) | 1 | Bunch |
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the rinsed red lentils. Cook until the lentils are soft, about 20 minutes.
- In a separate pan, heat ghee over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Add chopped onions to the pan and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced green chili. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil separates from the mixture.
- Pour the cooked lentils into the pan and mix well. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in the whisked whole milk yogurt and garam masala. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
Prep
- Rinse and soak red lentils for 30 minutes before cooking.
