Stewed Fruits
A simple stewed fruits dish using a variety of dried and fresh fruits simmered with spices and citrus zest.

Instructions
- Combine the dried apricots, figs, and prunes in a large bowl.
- Add the sliced apples and pears to the bowl with the dried fruits.
- In a large pot, combine the water, orange juice, lemon juice, cinnamon stick, and cloves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Add the fruit mixture to the pot and reduce the heat to low.
- Simmer the fruits gently for 30-40 minutes until they are tender.
- Stir in the honey and vanilla extract, and let the mixture simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the pot from heat and let the stewed fruits cool slightly before serving.

- Soak the dried apricots, figs, and prunes in warm water for 1 hour before cooking.
