Garlic Tofu Fry

A simple stir-fry dish featuring tofu, garlic, and vegetables, cooked in a savory sauce.

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut into cubes.
  2. Coat the tofu cubes with cornstarch evenly.
  3. Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Add tofu cubes to the pan and fry until golden brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same pan, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  6. Add sliced onions, red and green bell peppers, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
  7. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, water, and sugar to make the sauce.
  8. Pour the sauce into the pan with vegetables and bring to a simmer.
  9. Add the fried tofu back into the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.
  10. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  11. Garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.

Prep

  • Press tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess water.
