Paneer Chilli

Paneer Chilli is a stir-fried dish combining paneer, bell peppers, and spices, cooked in a savory sauce.

Cornstarch (mixed with 4 tbsp water to make a slurry)2Tbsp
Vegetable Oil (for frying)4Tbsp
Salt (or to taste)1Tsp
Black Pepper (freshly ground)1Tsp
Spring Onion (chopped for garnish)2Bunch

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the paneer cubes and fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add the remaining oil. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced green chilies. Sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add the cubed onions and bell peppers to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are slightly tender.
  4. Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine the ingredients.
  5. Add the fried paneer cubes back into the pan and mix well with the vegetables and sauce.
  6. Pour the cornstarch slurry into the pan and stir continuously until the sauce thickens and coats the paneer and vegetables evenly.
  7. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
