Prosciutto & caramelized mushroom/onion flatbread

Prepare a flatbread with prosciutto, caramelized mushrooms, and onions using whole milk mozzarella and balsamic glaze.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until they start to soften, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet with onions. Cook until mushrooms are golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Add balsamic vinegar to the skillet and continue to cook until onions are caramelized, about 5 more minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Place flatbreads on a baking sheet. Evenly distribute the caramelized onion and mushroom mixture over each flatbread.
  6. Top each flatbread with shredded mozzarella cheese and slices of prosciutto.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  9. Slice and serve warm.
