Hot Hamburger Plate

Prepare a hot hamburger plate with ground beef patties, rich gravy, and mashed potatoes, served with bread and peas.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Form into 5 equal patties.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt 50 grams of butter, add flour, and stir continuously to form a roux.
  4. Gradually add beef broth to the roux, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with remaining butter and whole milk until smooth.
  6. Heat thawed peas in a small saucepan over medium heat until warm.
  7. Serve each hamburger patty on a toasted bread slice, topped with gravy, alongside mashed potatoes and peas.
