Mashed Potatoes with gravy

Instructions

  1. Boil the peeled and quartered potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 20 minutes.
  2. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the softened butter and warmed whole milk.
  3. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  4. In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the finely chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
  5. Add the all-purpose flour to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  6. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, ensuring no lumps form. Simmer until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Serve the mashed potatoes topped with the prepared gravy.
