Southern fried chicken involves marinating chicken pieces, coating them in seasoned flour, and deep frying until crispy.

Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine chicken pieces with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- In another bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk and let excess drip off. Dip each piece in beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly with seasoned flour mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 175 degrees Celsius.
- Fry chicken pieces in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot, for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove chicken from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
