Southern Stlye Green Beans
Southern style green beans simmered with bacon and onions for a savory side dish.

Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté in the bacon drippings until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add the trimmed green beans to the skillet and toss to coat with the onion and garlic mixture.
- Pour in the chicken broth, bring to a simmer, and cover the skillet. Cook for 20-25 minutes or until the green beans are tender.
- Stir in the butter, cooked bacon, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve the green beans hot as a side dish.
