Steamed Vegetables

A simple preparation of assorted vegetables steamed to retain nutrients and flavor, served as a healthy side dish.

Instructions

  1. Prepare all vegetables by washing, peeling, and cutting them as described in the ingredient list.
  2. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Place a steamer basket over the pot.
  3. Add the broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots to the steamer basket. Cover and steam for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the green beans, red bell pepper, and zucchini to the steamer basket. Cover and steam for an additional 5-7 minutes until all vegetables are tender.
  5. Remove the vegetables from the steamer and place them in a large bowl.
  6. Drizzle the steamed vegetables with olive oil and lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Toss the vegetables gently to coat them evenly with the dressing.
  8. Serve the steamed vegetables warm as a side dish.
