Stewed Collard Greens

Stewed collard greens simmered with smoked turkey, onions, and spices for a savory side dish.

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until onion is translucent.
  2. Add smoked turkey pieces to the pot and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add chopped collard greens to the pot, stirring to combine with the turkey and onion mixture.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and apple cider vinegar. Stir in red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until greens are tender.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve warm.
