Garlic mushroom fried rice

Garlic mushroom fried rice prepared by stir-frying mushrooms, garlic, and rice with soy sauce and green onions.

Instructions

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the rinsed rice and a pinch of salt. Cook until the rice is tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and tender.
  6. Add the cooked rice to the skillet with the mushrooms and garlic. Stir well to combine.
  7. Pour in the soy sauce, and add the remaining sesame oil and vegetable oil. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the rice is heated through.
  8. Add the chopped green onions, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and serve hot.

Prep

  • Rinse and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes before cooking.
