Shiro
Shiro is a traditional Ethiopian stew made by simmering chickpea flour with spices and aromatics, served with injera.

Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another 2 minutes.
- Add berbere spice and tomato paste, stirring well to combine.
- Gradually add chickpea flour, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- Slowly pour in water, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth.
- Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low, and cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with injera or your choice of flatbread.
