Champorado

Champorado is a Filipino chocolate rice porridge made by simmering glutinous rice with cocoa powder, sugar, and milk.

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, combine glutinous rice and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Add cocoa powder, sugar, and salt to the pot. Stir well until the cocoa and sugar are fully dissolved.
  4. Continue to simmer for another 10-15 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked and the mixture has thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Serve in bowls, drizzling with whole milk and condensed milk as desired.
