Kwek kwek
Kwek kwek is a Filipino street food made by coating quail eggs in an orange batter and deep frying them until crispy.

Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and ground black pepper.
- Add cold water and annatto powder to the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth batter forms.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Dip each quail egg into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
- Carefully drop the coated eggs into the hot oil and fry until the batter is crispy and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the fried eggs from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
Prep
- Boil and peel quail eggs at least 1 hour before cooking.
