French Fries

Crispy French fries made by deep-frying sliced potatoes in oil, seasoned with salt.

Ingredients

Potato (peeled and cut into strips)1.5Kilograms

Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into uniform strips about 1 centimeter thick.
  2. Rinse the potato strips in cold water to remove excess starch.
  3. Soak the potato strips in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 160 degrees Celsius.
  6. Fry the potato strips in batches for about 5-6 minutes until they are soft but not browned.
  7. Remove the potatoes from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.
  8. Increase the oil temperature to 190 degrees Celsius.
  9. Fry the potatoes again in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt immediately.

  • Soak potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes
