Turon (Crispy Banana Sugar Rolls)

Turon is a Filipino snack made by wrapping ripe bananas and jackfruit in spring roll wrappers and frying until golden brown.

Instructions

  1. Peel the saba bananas and slice each one in half lengthwise.
  2. Coat each banana slice with brown sugar.
  3. Place a banana slice and a strip of jackfruit on a spring roll wrapper.
  4. Fold the sides of the wrapper over the banana and jackfruit, then roll tightly. Seal the edge with a dab of water.
  5. Repeat the wrapping process for all banana slices.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  7. Fry the wrapped bananas in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes per side.
  8. Remove the fried turon from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve warm as a snack or dessert.
