Margarita pizza

Prepare a classic Margarita pizza with homemade dough, fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil leaves, baked to perfection.

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and yeast. Gradually add lukewarm water and olive oil, kneading until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 2 hours until it doubles in size.
  3. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Celsius (482 degrees Fahrenheit).
  4. In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.
  5. Divide the dough into 5 equal parts. Roll each part into a 10-inch circle on a floured surface.
  6. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over each dough circle. Top with sliced mozzarella and fresh basil leaves.
  7. Transfer the pizzas to a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven, drizzle with olive oil, and serve hot.
