A simple Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes, quickly prepared by sautéing and tossing with spaghetti.

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until al dente, according to package instructions.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced garlic to the pan and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the red chili flakes to the pan and stir for about 30 seconds to release their flavor.
  5. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti and add it to the pan with the garlic and chili flakes.
  6. Toss the spaghetti in the garlic oil, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
  7. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  8. Serve the pasta hot, topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese.
