Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the vodka and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Meanwhile, cook the gnocchi according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  8. Add the cooked gnocchi to the sauce and gently toss to coat evenly.
  9. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the gnocchi and stir to combine.
  10. Garnish with fresh chopped basil before serving.
