Gorgonzola Stromboli

A rolled and baked Italian bread filled with gorgonzola cheese, prosciutto, and spinach, perfect for a savory meal.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 30x40 cm.
  3. Spread the crumbled gorgonzola cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a 2 cm border.
  4. Layer the prosciutto slices over the cheese.
  5. Scatter the spinach and minced garlic evenly over the prosciutto.
  6. Sprinkle freshly ground black pepper over the filling.
  7. Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly into a log, sealing the edges.
  8. Place the stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush the top with beaten egg and drizzle with olive oil.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
