Panna cotta

Panna cotta is a chilled Italian dessert made by simmering cream, milk, and sugar, then setting it with gelatin.

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Add vanilla bean seeds and pod.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
  4. Remove from heat and discard the vanilla pod. Stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.
  5. Pour the mixture into molds or serving glasses. Let it cool to room temperature.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
  7. Serve chilled, garnished with fresh berries.

Prep

  • Bloom gelatin in cold water 5 minutes before starting the recipe.
