Pasta alla Vodka

Pasta alla Vodka is a creamy tomato-based pasta dish made with vodka, heavy cream, and parmesan cheese, cooked with penne pasta.

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the vodka and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes to allow the alcohol to evaporate.
  5. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Stir in the grated parmesan cheese and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with fresh chopped basil before serving.
