Pasta with Marinara Sauce

Prepare pasta with a homemade marinara sauce using fresh tomatoes, garlic, and herbs, served over cooked spaghetti.

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the saucepan and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes to the saucepan. Stir in the dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
  5. Stir in the torn basil leaves and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Serve the cooked spaghetti topped with the marinara sauce and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese.
