Pasta with Pesto Sauce
Prepare pasta with homemade pesto sauce using fresh basil, pine nuts, and parmesan cheese for a flavorful meal.

Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, prepare the pesto sauce. In a food processor, combine basil leaves, toasted pine nuts, grated parmesan cheese, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- With the food processor running, slowly drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Drain the cooked spaghetti, reserving a cup of pasta water. Return the spaghetti to the pot.
- Add the pesto sauce to the spaghetti, tossing to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Serve the pasta with additional grated parmesan cheese on top, if desired.
