Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Gently lower the eggs into the boiling water using a spoon.
- Boil the eggs for exactly 7 minutes for a soft-boiled texture.
- Immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for 5 minutes.
- While the eggs are cooling, mix soy sauce, mirin, water, and sugar in a bowl until the sugar dissolves.
- Peel the cooled eggs carefully and place them in a resealable plastic bag or container.
- Pour the marinade over the eggs, ensuring they are fully submerged. Seal the bag or container.
- Refrigerate the eggs in the marinade for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, for best flavor.
- Remove the eggs from the marinade, slice in half, and serve with ramen or as a snack.
