Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, 100 grams of granulated sugar, brown sugar, 50 grams of flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 0.25 tsp of salt. Mix well and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix the remaining flour, baking powder, and 0.25 tsp of salt.
  4. Add the cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined to form a dough.
  6. Transfer the apple mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the dough over the apple mixture, covering as much as possible.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 50 grams of granulated sugar over the dough.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
