Filipino Lumpia

Filipino Lumpia is a savory spring roll filled with seasoned ground pork and vegetables, wrapped in thin pastry and deep-fried until crispy.

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground pork, grated carrot, shredded cabbage, chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Place a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface. Add about 2 tablespoons of the pork mixture near one corner of the wrapper.
  3. Fold the corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly. Brush the end with beaten egg to seal the roll. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add lumpia in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes per batch.
  5. Remove lumpia from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
