Bateta Nu Shaak

Bateta Nu Shaak is a Gujarati potato curry made by simmering potatoes with spices and tomatoes.

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds, and let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Add diced potatoes and mix to coat them with the spices.
  6. Pour in water, cover the pan, and let it simmer until the potatoes are cooked through.
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
