Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat and add cumin seeds. Allow them to sizzle for a few seconds.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for another minute.
  4. Add pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Stir in coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Add chicken pieces and cook until they are no longer pink.
  7. Add chopped spinach and mix well. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
  8. Stir in whisked yogurt and water. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens.
  9. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with rice or naan.
