Chilla is a savory pancake made from chickpea flour and spices, cooked on a griddle until golden brown.

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine chickpea flour, water, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Add chopped onion, tomato, green chili, and coriander leaves to the batter. Mix well.
  3. Heat a non-stick griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with oil.
  4. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the griddle and spread it evenly to form a thin pancake.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for another 2 minutes.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or yogurt.

Prep

  • Soak chickpea flour in water for 30 minutes before preparing the batter.
