Methi Thepla

Methi Thepla is a spiced Indian flatbread made from whole wheat flour, fresh fenugreek leaves, and spices, cooked on a griddle.

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, chopped fenugreek leaves, yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds, salt, grated ginger, and chopped green chili.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of oil and mix well. Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  4. Flatten each ball and roll it out into a thin circle using a rolling pin, dusting with flour as needed to prevent sticking.
  5. Heat a griddle over medium heat. Place the rolled thepla on the griddle and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side, applying a little oil, until golden brown spots appear.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls. Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
