Mushroom Matar

Mushroom Matar is a simple Indian curry made by simmering mushrooms and peas in a spiced tomato-onion gravy.

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and slit green chili. Sauté for a minute.
  4. Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add sliced mushrooms and green peas. Stir to coat them with the spice mixture.
  7. Pour in water and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Add garam masala and stir well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
