Onion Paratha

Onion Paratha is a flatbread made by stuffing spiced onion mixture into whole wheat dough and cooking on a skillet.

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix whole wheat flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, combine chopped onions, green chilies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to prepare the filling.
  3. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  4. Flatten a dough ball, place a spoonful of onion filling in the center, and fold the edges over the filling to seal it.
  5. Gently roll the stuffed dough ball into a flat disc, ensuring the filling does not spill out.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the rolled paratha on the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, applying ghee, until golden brown.
  7. Repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling. Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
