Palak Dal
Palak Dal is a nutritious dish made by cooking lentils with spinach and spices, simmered to perfection.

| Red Chili Powder | 0.5 | Tsp |
| Garam Masala | 1 | Tsp |
| Salt (or to taste) | 1 | Tsp |
| Ghee | 2 | Tbsp |
| Water | 1 | Liter |
| Coriander Leaves (fresh, chopped for garnish) | 1 | Bunch |
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat ghee over medium heat and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for another minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
- Add the rinsed lentils and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped spinach and cook for another 10 minutes until the lentils are fully cooked.
- Add garam masala and adjust salt if needed. Simmer for 5 more minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
Prep
- Soak yellow lentils in water for 1 hour before cooking.
