Roti

Roti is a simple flatbread made by mixing whole wheat flour with water and cooking on a griddle.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the flour mixture, kneading continuously until a soft, pliable dough forms.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 10 equal portions and roll each into a ball.
  5. Flatten each ball slightly and roll it out into a thin circle about 15 centimeters in diameter using a rolling pin.
  6. Heat a griddle over medium-high heat. Place a rolled-out dough circle onto the griddle.
  7. Cook until small bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown spots appear.
  8. Remove from the griddle and brush with ghee. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
