Soy Chunks Aloo Curry

Soy chunks aloo curry is a flavorful dish prepared by simmering soy chunks and potatoes in a spiced tomato-based gravy.

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat and add cumin seeds. Allow them to splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté for another minute.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add the cubed potatoes and mix to coat them with the spice mixture.
  7. Pour in water, cover, and let it simmer until the potatoes are half-cooked.
  8. Add the soaked soy chunks and continue to cook until the potatoes are fully cooked and the soy chunks are tender.
  9. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  10. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.

Prep

  • Soak soy chunks in hot water for 30 minutes before cooking.
