Medu Vada
Medu Vada is a savory Indian snack made by deep-frying a batter of urad dal and spices.

| Baking Soda (optional) | 0.5 | Tsp |
| Oil (for deep frying) | 1 | Liter |
Instructions
- Drain the soaked urad dal and grind it with water to a smooth batter.
- Transfer the batter to a bowl and add chopped onion, green chili, ginger, curry leaves, crushed black peppercorns, salt, and baking soda. Mix well.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Wet your hands, take a small portion of the batter, and shape it into a round ball. Make a hole in the center with your thumb.
- Carefully slide the shaped batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
- Remove the vadas from the oil and drain on paper towels. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
