Meen Varuval

Meen Varuval is a South Indian fish fry prepared by marinating fish with spices and shallow frying until crispy.

Curry Leaves (fresh)1Bunch
Oil (for shallow frying)100Ml

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, lemon juice, and salt to form a paste.
  2. Apply the spice paste evenly on the fish pieces and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Add curry leaves to the hot oil and let them splutter.
  5. Place the marinated fish pieces in the pan and fry them on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove the fish from the pan and drain excess oil on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with lemon wedges and garnish with fresh curry leaves.

Prep

  • Marinate the fish for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
